Lee Roy Selmon's story combines football scholarship for his family with service for the community. First family: he's the youngest of the nine children Lucious and Jessie Selmon. The family lived on the farm of Eufala, Oklahoma. Second football he was the third brother who were players for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in United States by Outland Lombardi, Outland and the Outland Awards. Over the course of his three years as the starting line-up Oklahoma finished 32-1-0 and also won two championships at the national level. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975 and named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned a bachelor's in the field of education. Lee Roy spent ten hours each week working as a volunteer throughout his time at college. He settled down in Tampa following college. He played for the Buccaneers for 9 years and was three-time all-pro. The beginning of his business career came. In 1988, he joined the ranks of an account relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why the man was named among the most distinguished young people in America according to the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1982. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 lbs. He played for his school's team in the year 1975. Lee Roy was appointed the associate director of athletics at the University of South Florida, in 1993. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988 the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
