Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and public speaking. She founded Feminist Frequency the site that features videos and comments analyzing the portrayals of females in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. Feminist Frequency explores how women are represented in popular culture. Dispelling stereotypes of women is the main goals of her work. But, she also highlights issues related to specifically targeted harassment online against women and for other groups who are marginalized. Sarkeesian holds a bachelor's degree in the fields of social thought and political science from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaking. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO Fest and United Nations Broadband Working Group. As a university student, Sarkeesian became concerned about issues related to gender identity and women's rights in the early stages. In 2009, the ebullient young woman was slammed on the internet for her website that focused on the gender of videogames. The attack did not stop her, rather it strengthened her resolve as feminist media critic. In recognition of the many achievements she's made for feminist movements, she has been awarded numerous prizes. Anita Sarkeesian is an award winner for her media criticism and is the co-founder of Feminist Frequency an educational and non-profit organization that explores the representations of women in pop media and the narratives that surround them.
