Lisa Edelstein was an American actress, best known for her role as the main character of Fox's House medical series. Her family was from Wayne and was raised in a strict Jewish tradition. When she was 18 she moved into New York City to study at the Tisch School of the Arts. She was very active in the club scene in New York City and made enough noise that she was heard from the news media. In the meantime, she was becoming more conscious of AIDS and its devastating impacts. The singer used her musical training and fame to make and appear in a new musical, Positive Me. Awake the Wild Side, a show she hosted for MTV was soon her assignment. When Awake on the Wild Side stopped running, she started to act in films and on television, initially in brief roles. Gradually, her career in acting increased.
