
Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez September 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakthrough role as Tina in Do the Right Thing (1989) was followed by White Men Can't jump (1992). Her performance as Tina in Fearless (1993) brought her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Perez's main roles in films include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007), as well as Birds of Prey (2018). She also won three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990-1994) as well as another Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her performance as The Flight Attendant. She has been in Broadway stage plays such as The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. During the 18th season, she also co-hosted on ABC's talk show The View. She attended Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood. Her mother was in the poverty of Woodside Houses by 1999. She died of complications from AIDS in 1999.
