
Heidi Watney was born May 19th 1981. She is a famous American sportscaster. Her prior experience in sportscasting includes roles at the University of San Diego, New England Sports Network (Boston), Time Warner Cable SportsNet (Los Angeles) as well as two stations in Fresno. Watney was a Clovis West High School student in Fresno. She was a participant in gymnastics in hurdles, diving, and gymnastics. The school was home to a National Merit Scholar and attended the University of San Diego on an academic scholarship. There, she graduated with distinction in 2003. Watney was the Miss California USA 2002 runner-up. Watney is the cousin of professional golfer Nick Watney. 7 Andy Weir, author of The Martian science fiction novel said that Watney was his name and was the one who invented the character Mark Watney from it.
